Our Philosophy
Our curriculum is guided by Te Whāriki which supports children's holistic development. We have a strong commitment to providing a natural-based curriculum.
We believe that nature provides children with the optimal basis to enrich their imagination and, through provision of diverse and varied materials, the opportunity for open-ended play and unstructured creative exploration.
By looking at our natural surrounding we are also given the opportunity to learn alongside the children about the uniqueness of Aotearoa and pass on the legends and stories of our beginnings, the teaching of Ngā Atua is evident within our curriculum.
We believe that the environment is crucial to children's learning, By being intuitive to the children's interests and providing them tools to scaffold these, we are providing optimal learning opportunities, which promote imagination, problem solving and a sense of wonder and discovery.

Our Core Values
At Wilde Meadows the following core values underpin what we do. These core values guide us in our practice and enlighten our decision making.
Al five principles are interwoven, each providing the
foundations, walls and roof of our Wilde Meadows whare.
Love / Aroha
At Wilde Meadows we believe every child deserves to feel loved and honoured. We do this by showing our gratitude that they are apart of our extended whānau, that we value what they bring and who they are. We gently guide them to share their kind spirit and show empathy to their peers. These traits are innate and natural for all kaiako atWilde Meadows, which provides role-modelling for our tamariki.
Mindfulness / Kotahitanga
As part of our dedication to create a peaceful place where tamariki feel contented and loved, we teach the practice of mindfulness through techniques such as learning to breath effectively in moments of stress, yoga techniques and having areas within the environment where tamariki can spend time to self regulate at their own time and their own pace.
Wonder / Mauri
Learning and development of children is supported naturally through play. Having an environment which speaks to the child through connections with their whānau, nature and provides open-ended learning opportunities.
Integrity / Maramatanga
Integrity is an over-arching principle at Wilde Meadows, through respect and honest relationship for all stakeholders; management, Kaiako, whānau and tamariki experience an environment in which they can trust and rely upon. It is about creating a collective community with shared values and goals, who support one another and who are all dedicated to provide valuable outcomes for our children.
Resilience / Rangatiratanga
To install resilience we empower tamariki to make their own decisions, to take charge of their own enquiries and to have courage to challenge their own abilities. Kaiako encourage tamariki to take the lead in their learning journey, by preparing them to be "ready, willing and able" to become confident and competent lifelong learners.
